RAS NAS is a band as well as the artist name of Nasibu Mwanukuzi, a Tanzanian poet-musician, writer and producer living in Oslo, Norway. Ras Nas had a debut concert in July 1991. This happened at a party organised by the Rastafari Cultural Foundation, to mark the 99th anniversary of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, in Oslo. When Nelson Mandela visited Oslo in May 1992, after his release from jail, Ras Nas was there among the singers and players of instruments.
